Civic awareness is an important feature of social democracy,and it is also the motivation to motivate people to participate in social activities,and civic education is an important way to cultivate citizen consciousness,which affects the development and progress of the society in all aspects.Textbook is also an important carrier of civic education in schools.Since 20 years of educational reform in Taiwan area,citizens’ moral quality and consciousness have been greatly improved,but there are also various problems.Based on the literature review,this paper is based on the two lines of text analysis and interview.Based on the dimension of Civil Society Diamond,citizen consciousness is divided into four dimensions: "knowledge","emotion","value" and "practice".First of all,we quantify and analyze the text of the content of citizen consciousness in the social science and education section of the H edition of Taiwan,and prepare for the interview.Through deeply interviewing with teachers and textbook research experts on the teaching of textbooks and civic awareness,the actual situation of the use of textbooks and the reasons for the formation of this situation are explored.The study found that the content of textbooks in the content dimension,civic knowledge and civic value content accounted for a large proportion;from the presentation,the picture and its description and text content of the two forms account for the same proportion and in the proportion of four forms are dominant.According to the summary of the interview,it is found that there are four characteristics in the present stage of civic awareness education in Taiwan:the construction of civic knowledge system in a variety of forms;the mobilization of emotions to create citizenship;the lack of value construction of the global view;and the guidance of civil action in line with the practical needs.The reasons for this phenomenon are: the requirement of the discipline reform in the knowledge dimension,the strengthening of the education internationalization in the emotional dimension,the value developmentof multi-identity in the value dimension,and the reform of the modernization of education in the practical dimension.At the end of this paper,we put forward the reference of citizenship education in Taiwan to the reform in the mainland of Mainland.Firstly,on the knowledge dimension,the content of the text should be adjusted and the form of the expression should be enriched.Secondly,on the emotion dimension,the design of the textbook should resonate with the students’ ideology.Thirdly,on the value dimension,students’ thinking ability in value judgment should be Strengthened.Finally,on the practice dimension,student’s civic awareness should be aroused through practice.
