As an important component of the Chinese national spirit,self-reliance has been valued since ancient times.In the face of increasingly students' quality of arrogant,has certain practical significance to explore the spirit of self-reliance training in primary and secondary schools through a variety of ways.This paper from the perspective of American Curriculum Standards For Social Studies,to discusses the cultivation of self-reliance spirit in American schools,absorbing its positive ingredients to offer reference for the cultivation of self-reliance spirit in primary and secondary schools in China.Firstly,define the specific connotation of the self-reliance spirit through the literature review,and this is the main basis to carry out a detailed analysis of the Curriculum Standards For Social Studies.By combining the specific materials of American social studies and the characteristics of students' development stages,three aspects of curriculum objectives,curriculum content and curriculum design are discussed,to sum up the unique ideas and methods of the cultivation of self-reliance spirit in primary school,and finally combining the specific situation of our country and the characteristics of students,it puts forward some effective measures to help our primary and secondary schools to cultivate their self-reliance spirit.Specifically,the introduction of this article first defines the self-reliance spirit,social studies curriculum and curriculum standards for social studies.The first part of the text as a whole introduction of the Curriculum Standards For Social Studies,mainly from the nature and status of the course,the main contents of the course(including teaching concepts,teaching content and teaching design),as well as the main features of the course and other aspects are briefly introduced.The second part mainly discusses the expression of the self-reliance spirit as the curriculum goal in the curriculum standard through the combination of the spirit of self-reliance and the spirit of the United States and the characteristics of its expression.The third part is the interpretation of the self-reliance spirit through time,space,experience,and rational these four dimensions and specific interpretation features,to discusses the explanation of self-reliance as curriculum content in curriculum standards.The fourth part is through the specific refection and characteristic of self-reliance spirit in curriculum design,discuss the self-reliance spirit as a curriculum design in the presentation of curriculum standards.The last part of this paper is based on the above analysis,extracting the main idea of the cultivation of self-reliance from the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the American curriculum standards for Social Studies,and put forward the inspiration for the cultivation of self-reliance spirit in primary and secondary schools in China from the three aspects of curriculum objectives,curriculum content and curriculum design.In conclusion,through the analysis of the Curriculum Standards for Social Studies,we can explore the cultivation of self-reliance spirit from a new angle of view,it helps to promote the dialectical understanding of American social studies curriculum,and also helps to improve the cultivation self-reliance spirit in primary and secondary schools in China.
