With the rise of online learning,online video courses have quickly become the main form of online learning,and online video learning has become the focus of research.Due to the existence of video attached to the danmaku,it has the characteristics of anonymity,timely feedback,and strong interaction,which may promote the interaction of learning.Many scholars have explored the teaching role of danmaku.Based on social constructivist learning theory and cognitive load theory,this study attempts to explore the impact of danmaku in online instructional videos on the cognitive load,learning satisfaction,and learning effectiveness of learners with different levels of prior knowledge and learning style in declarative and procedural knowledge learning.Experiment 1 used 115 learners as participants to explore the impact of danmaku in online instructional videos on the learning of declarative knowledge by learners with different levels of prior knowledge(high prior knowledge X low prior knowledge)and learning style(active X contemplative).The results show that the danmaku will reduce the mental effort of learners to reduce their cognitive load,and reduce their learning satisfaction and recall test;the danmaku reduces the cognitive load,learning satisfaction,and recall test of learners with low previous knowledge;The danmaku reduces the cognitive load,learning satisfaction,and achievement of learners with contemplative learning styles;under danmaku conditions,the learners with high prior knowledge have higher recall test.Experiment 2 used 110 learners as participants to explore the impact of danmaku in online instructional videos on the learning of procedural knowledge by learners with different levels of prior knowledge(high prior knowledge X low prior knowledge)and learning style(active X contemplative).The results show that the danmaku will increase the learner's transfer test;the danmaku reduces the mental effort and increases the transfer test of learners with low previous knowledge;the danmaku increases the recall test and transfer test of learners with contemplative learning styles;under no danmaku condition,the learners with low prior knowledge have higher material difficulty,higher cognitive load,and lower recall test and transfer test;under danmaku conditions,the learners with low prior knowledge have lower mental effort and recall test.Through experiments can get:(1)Danmaku has different effects on different types of knowledge learning:danmaku does not promote declarative knowledge learning,it will reduce learners' learning satisfaction and recall test;danmaku has a certain role in promoting procedural knowledge learning,and it can mainly improve learners' transfer test.(2)The danmaku mainly plays a role in learners with low prior knowledge level.(3)Higher learners perform better in online video learning.(4)danmaku mainly plays a role in contemplative learning style learners.This research can enrich the teaching application research of danmaku,expand the relevant theories of instructional videos and cognitive load,and verify the role of danmaku in online instructional videos and the knowledge reversal effect in multimedia learning.It has certain guiding significance for the design of personalized danmaku function and the development of personalized learning in the online video learning platform.
