| Transition education is an important stage in promoting the development of students with intellectual disabilities in special school.This study aims to improve the self-determination ability of student with intellectual disability by constructing a supported environment,and it can improve the students ’ comprehensive ability.And self-determination is of great significance to students with mental disabilities.The improvement of students ’self-determination ability can help students improve their quality of life,thus reducing the burden on the family.The study used case study,and used the self-determination learning model of instruction for 12 weeks of intervention in a case of a 16 year old girl with moderate Intellectual disabilities and carried out a process phase goal test in the educational environment of the transition.The results show that after the intervention,the scores of the four dimensions of self-determination ability,namely independence ability,self-adjustment ability,psychological empowerment,and self-realization ability,were all significantly higher than in the baseline period.Since four themes were selected in the curriculum for the transition education,corresponding to choice,problem solving,self-guidance,and self-confidence,the results are consistent with the content of the intervention.The improvement of these four elements is more obvious.Other elements also have some positive changes,but the difference between the front and rear is not significant.The study also found that the improvement of the case self-determination ability can effectively promote the development of their transfer education.The results of this study are consistent with the results of existing interventions on the ability of students with disabilities to make their own decisions in other themes.In view of the above research results,this study puts forward suggestions from four aspects: teachers of special school,school environment,education of transfer title and parents of students: teachers of special school should make full use of different teaching activities to improve the ability of self-determination of students with mental disabilities;Special schools should create a physical environment and a humanistic environment conducive to improving students ’self-determination ability;special schools should pay attention to the self-determination ability of students when they carry out the education of transfer title;And the school should also mobilize the parents ’strength to jointly promote the self-determination ability of students with intellectual disabilities. |
