With the widespread popularity of computer science,Computational Thinking(CT)is increasingly valued by computer science and education.CT has become the necessary ability to train new types of talent.CT,theoretical thinking,and experimental thinking are also called three major scientific thinking.Jeannette M.Wing from Carnegie Mellon University put forward that CT,like reading,writing and arithmetic(3R)is a basic skill that people must be able to consciously apply to everyday learning,research,and future work.At present,the study of CT at home and abroad is limited to theoretical research.There are few practical studies,and most of them are aimed at college students’ computer basic courses.As far as the existing curriculum system is concerned,there is a lack of a complete and systematic curriculum system for the cultivation of pupils’ CT skills.This study focuses on the core elements of CT.Using the App Inventor application development platform as a carrier for CT,a set of CTof App Inventor training system for primary school students was developed to solve the current problem of cultivating CT for elementary school students.The lack of curriculum system has brought about the integration of CT into the wave of primary and secondary education and teaching reform at home and abroad.It provides a systematic and effective method for the cultivation of CT in primary schools in China,and enhances the overall understanding of CT ability.This study analyzes the authoritative definition of CT at home and abroad through literature analysis,collates and summarizes the core elements of CT,analyzes the introduction of CT in the current primary school curriculum standards,and demonstrates the feasibility of the curriculum.At the same time,using CT ability as a teaching goal,combined with App Inventor’s knowledge system to form a content framework and knowledge system for the cultivation of pupils’ computing thinking ability,and designed a set of App Inventor CT training course for primary school students.The App Inventor Public Welfare Lecture Hall was conducted with the Jinzhou Children’s Library as a venue to carry out a curriculum experimental study,and a 20-hour lecture was conducted,and the CT training strategy and activity model designed by this study were adopted.Through CT questionnaire surveys,interviews,and classroom observations,experiments have shown that: The curriculum system designed by this institute can effectively promote the development of primary school students’ CT ability.The App Inventor curriculum is incorporated into the teaching of primary school curriculum.It serves as a carrier for the development of CT ability,enriches the form of pupils’ thinking in computing,and continuously encourages students to use CT to think and solve problems.This study verifies that students have a high level of interest in App Inventor programming and feel a greater sense of accomplishment in App Inventor.This experimental study can provide reference for practitioners of other App Inventor courses to a certain extent.More importantly,the author hopes that through this study,it can arouse domestic education circles and academia’s attention and attention to App Inventor curriculum design and teaching.Promote the promotion and development of App Inventor in China to promote the improvement of students’ programming ability and creativity.
