With the continuous improvement of China's modern economy and the deepening reform of basic education,the importance of design has become increasingly prominent.All the forms of design arts are made up of point,line and plane.Different forms of point,line and plane express different emotions and convey different information.The integration of point and line to plane teaching into the course of design and application in middle schools is of great significance to the improvement of students' design ability.This article studies the art design courses in middle schools by literature review,questionnaire survey,statistical analysis,etc.The first part outlines the concept of design and design education of point and line to plane by literature review.The second part introduces the current teaching situation and reveals the problems of current middle schools' course of art design and application through a questionnaire survey of students and teachers.Aiming at the problems existing in teaching,the third part provides suggestions in terms of highlighting the theory of point and line to plane,selecting suitable teaching methods according to the teaching reality,and adding the theory of point and line to plane to the design practice.Based on the field research and the art curriculum standards,the fourth part discusses how to convey the theory of point and line to plane so that students can really design and create and thus lay a solid foundation for better design appreciation and creation.
