Exploration Of The Common Governance Of Independent Colleges Under The New Era

The independent college is an innovative product of public education resources combined with social private capital in the stage of popularization of higher education in China,and has made great contributions to accelerating the popularization of higher education in China.At the same time,some issues began to emerge in the process of running an independent college:the property rights of the college were ambiguous,the internal structure was unbalanced,the system of the board of directors was still to be perfected,and the academic power was declining.These issues alone cannot be solved by the independent college itself.We must seek a more ideal governance model,that is,a common governance model of consultation and cooperation.Based on the principal-agent theory and the stakeholder theory,this article draws lessons from the successful practice of foreign university governance and uses common governance theories to resolve the chronic diseases facing the development of independent colleges.To build a multi-stakeholder consultation and cooperation to participate in the interest coordination mechanism for independent college governance,Working together to make a new leap for the independent college.This article consists of five parts.The first part of the introduction introduces the significance of the topic,summarizes the research status at home and abroad,and introduces the objectives,methods and ideas of this study.The second part explains the related concepts of the common governance theory and demonstrates the feasibility of co-governance in higher education.The third part introduces the status quo and problems of the development of independent colleges.Through a detailed analysis of the problems,the causes of the problems are sorted out.The fourth part combines the analysis of issues and the new requirements for higher education in the new era,expounding the need for joint governance in independent schools in the new era.The fifth part of the design of a new era of independent governance structure of independent colleges in China,proposed the participation of the stakeholders in the deputy director of the board of directors,dean's office and academic committee to jointly manage the power mechanism of the independent college,The common governance model of independent colleges is not only the process of coordination of the interests of stakeholders,but also a process of improving the overall quality of independent colleges as a common goal and the division of labor among various stakeholders in their respective fields.
