LiRunTian(1925-present),a native of xinmin county,Liaoning province,is a famous geographer and educator in China.Since he was assigned to teach at Henan University in July 1953,he has been sticking to the teaching,research and management of Henan University.He has devoted all his life to the develpoment of Henan University.In the early stage of the reform and opening up,higher education need to be re-established.Through comparing and examining the develpoment of higher education in various countries,LiRuTian,as the first principal after the restoration of the name of Henan University,actively explored advanced laws and internal logic of higher education development and put forward his own unique higher education thinking and steadily carried out a series of reforms on Henan University,such as taking the road of comprehesive development;focusing on cultivating middle-aged and young teachers to sovle high-level talent “faults” and adhering to the “introduction” and “going out” international perspectives and so on.These measures have made a top-level design for Henan University's scientific positioning and characteristics of running schools.It has laid the foundation for the future development of Henan University and has had a profound impact.Nowadays,It is still significant to guide the develpoment of local university in aspects of theory and practice.The full text is divided into six major parts.The first part: Introduction.It mainly introduces the reason and significance of the selected topic of the paper,the purpose of the research,and the research ideas.It also elaborates on the difficulties and innovations of the paper.Through the collection and collation of relevant literature data,the subject of the study is clearly identified and analyzed,which prepare for the following analysis and research.The second part: Love Henan University : Li Runtian's educational life.This chapter objectively and three-dimensionally demonstrates Li Runtian's five important stages of life in primary school,middle school,college,work,and retirement.Starting from his experience in studying and practicing,this part systematically reviews Li Runtian's lifetime of education.The third part: The source of Li Runtian's higher education thought.This chapter explores the causes of Li Runtian's higher education thought through Marxist theory,the background of reform and opening up,the influence of the culture of the Central Plains,the influence of the spirit of Henan university,and the comparison and examination of Chinese and foreign cultures to exploit the traceability of his ideas.The fourth part: The content of Li Runtian's higher education thought.With the guidance of the concept of scientific development about universities,the chapter fully categorized his higher education thought in terms of personnel training,scientific research,social services,cultural innovation,faculty development,and international exchange and cooperation.Futhermore,this part comprehensively overview the content of his higher education ideas with concrete data and practical activities.The fifth part: The features of Li Runtian's higher education thought and its historical value.By sorting out the details of Li Runtian's higher education thoughts,this chapter summarizes the characteristics of his higher education ideas,and objectively evaluates the historical value of his ideas in a specific era and its impact on the follow-up development of Henan University.The sixth part: The implication of Li Runtian's higher education thought in the contemporary.In order to provide the reference and thinking for the current connotative development of higher education,this part is mainly divided into two parts: the enlightenment of today's higher education and the enlightenment of university administrators.
