With the rapid development of information technology,it is one of the basic skills for everyone to obtain and interpret the information conveyed by the image.Biology textbook image system is an important carrier of biological information.In order to enable students to acquire information,understand information,and apply information more quickly and accurately from textbook images,cultivating and improving students’ ability of reading pictures become one of the focus of biology teaching.By reviewing the literature,summarizing and drawing on the previous research results,this paper defines the concept of reading pictures ability and image system.The author investigated the current situation of student?s biology reading drawing ability by doing questionnaire and interviewing.The author found that high school students is generally poor in reading drawing.The consciousness of reading drawing is shallow.Therefore,the author summarized the students main problems in analysing chart and reading graph.By analyzing of ordinary high school the biology compulsory textbook of PEP,combined with relevant data and the status quo of investigation and guided by Gagne?s theory of information processing learning and brain science-related research conclusions,the author explores some reading strategies which improves students? reading drawing ability of biological teaching in high school : In terms of recognizing pictures,to create a scene,to create the teaching environment of “had no intention of reading pictures” for students,including the hardware and soft environment of classroom teaching.The teacher should use the textbook image to teach the composition and basic types of biology images and guide students to observe images in an orderly manner.In terms of analyzing pictures,teachers should pay attention to the students? divergent thinking and find the breakthrough point of analyzing charts and deepen students? basic knowledge.Enhance the students’ ability of graphic transfer through variable training.In terms of using pictures,teachers make use of pictures to promote reading and make models to guide students to use “images” to activate knowledge,consolidate training to improve students? problem-solving skills.Based on the above-mentioned strategies,the author carried out teaching practice,and analyzed of teaching cases and evaluated of the effection of teaching practice.It is found that the reading ability of students has been improved,showing specifically that the students? consciousness reading pictures has been enhanced,students have been analyzed images and explained meanings more comprehensively,the knowledge structure of students has been optimized,and students? ability to solve questions has been improved.In the end,according to own teaching practice,the author puts forward some suggestions on using of images for teaching,as well as reflecting and prospecting of the study.
