Since the second industrial revolution,America's scientific and technological level has maintained a leading position in the world.However,the competitiveness of industry has declined since 1970 s,and many market share of manufacturing industry,which is supported by science and technology,is occupied by Japan.To this end,the government of the United States attaches great importance to it,and organized and developed extensive investigation and research in the government,enterprises and academia.The result shows that the main reason for the decline of industry competitiveness is "lack of management of technology activities",and shows "future success depends not only on technology itself,but also on the ability to manage technology." Since then,the United States has taken a number of measures to improve its management of technology ability,in which the cultivation and development of human resources is considered the most important and give a great deal of attention.In 1980 s,the professional education of management of technology was carried out in colleges and universities,which a large number of professionals have been trained.It provides a strong guarantee for effectively solving the problem of declining in competitiveness of the industry.And then,Japan,South Korea and other countries have drawn on the experience of the United States,and the professional education of management of technology has been carried out in succession and achieved good results.At present,China also faces the problems of low achievement conversion rate and low competitiveness of the industry.On the training of management of technology talents,the courses of management of technology are scattered.The professional education of management of technology has not been carried out.Therefore,it is necessary to learn from the experience of American colleges and universities to carry out the professional education of management of technology,and explore the construction ideas of the professional education of management of technology in Chinese colleges and universities.This article focuses on understanding and mastering the background and developing process of the professional education of management of technology in American colleges and Universities.By analyzing cases about the professional education of management of technology in two typical colleges and universities in the United States,and based on summarizing the experience of the professional education of management of technology in American colleges and Universities,this paper puts forward the construction ideas of the professional education of management of technology in Chinese universities.At theundergraduate level,the related courses of management of technology are set up in the department of engineering,and popularize the knowledge of management of technology so as to improve the level of the consciousness of management of technology for the whole people.The professional education of management of technology for Master graduate students pays attention to the training of applied professional talents of management of technology.At the Doctoral stage,it focuses on the training of researchers of management of technology.At the same time,the joint of government,enterprises and academic have promoted the successful development of the professional education of management of technology.In a word,it is an effective way to improve the conversion rate of the achievement to carry out the professional education of management of technology,and it is the platform for training of innovation and entrepreneurial talents.
