The phonetic is the material shell of language.Accuracy sound is the base of effective communication.Pinyin is the phonetic tool for Chinese characters.Usually the Chinese learner start learning Chinese with pinyin.During teaching I found Filipino students make a large number of errors during Chinese phonetic and pinyin learning process because of the negative transfer of mother tongue,the design defect of《The scheme of the Chinese phonetic alphabet》and so on.I found out that only few researchers focus on Chinese phonetic and pinyin errors of Filipino students.Most researchers only make analysis of the Chinese phonetic errors or Chinese characters errors after researching a large quantity of relevant references.In this study,I tried to analyze Filipino students’Chinese phonetic errors and pinyin errors by mandarin test include oral test and written test for 60 Filipino students with different levels of Chinese proficiency.This study applied with the following theories:Inter-language theory,Contrast analysis theory,and Error analysisanalysis theory.The research result shows that Filipino student’s pinyin using errors have the following circumstances:First,Filipino students’ Chinese phonetic mistakes have its own special feature.Consonanterrors are mostly caused by mixing up aspirated sound and none-aspiratedsound.It is hard for Filipino students to pronounce velar nasal.The forth tone has the highest errors rate and the third tone has the lowest errors rate.Second,For primary stage students,the reason of Phonetic error is lacking of Chinese character recognition ability.During the test,there are situations that writing well and reading bad rarely occurred,which prove that Filipino students’pinyin writing ability is related to their pronunciation ability.Third,here are plenty of errors during test,both using pinyin Phonetic for characters and writing characters for pinyin.Except the special Chinese characters’s tructural features the wrong pronunciation of pinyin is also the reason which causes this phenomenon.The following three aspects are considered to be the reasons that caused the above errors:Firstly,negative transfer of mother tongue.Secondly,the confusion principle of《The scheme of the Chinese phonetic alphabet》.Thirdly,the learner’s study environment,learning motivation and learning strategy.After analyzing of the errors,this paper given related teaching suggestions and designed the teaching plan about tones for Filipino students.
