| In order to develop the education of science and engineering and cultivate students’ STEM(Science,Technology,Engineering,Mathematics)quality,the United States has put forward the STEM education concept.After the long-term development and improvement,the concept gradually integrated science,technology,engineering and mathematics education.At the same time,the infiltration STEM thought is derived.Therefore,the STEM theory has brought new ideas and thoughts to education of our country.The research mainly discusses two questions: how to apply the STEM education idea to middle school chemistry teaching,and how to construct the STEM literacy evaluation index system for middle school students.The index system of STEM literacy scale for middle school students was constructed.Based on the assessment system,the students’ STEM literacy questionnaire was compiled.The status of students’ STEM literacy was understood by conducting a questionnaire survey.Based on the students’ STEM literacy,the research discussed the strategy of combining STEM teaching model with middle school chemistry teaching,designed some cases of middle school chemistry teaching based on STEM and carried out teaching practice research.Specific studies are as follows:Firstly,the index system of STEM literacy scale for middle school students was constructed.The index system of initial scale was constructed through literature analysis and teacher interviews.The validity of the scale index system was analyzed from the aspects of reliability and validity.And the final scale index system with three primary indicators and 14 secondary indexes was obtained.The research used the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)to analyze the weight of the scale system,and finally formed the STEM literacy scale of middle school students with the index of each level and its weight coefficient.Secondly,according to the scale index system,the STEM questionnaire of middle school students was compiled.The questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the status of STEM literacy for middle school students,to provide the basis for STEM-based chemistry teaching design.Thirdly,the research introduced the strategy of applying STEM teaching model to chemistry teaching,and designing some cases of chemistry teaching design under STEM teaching concept.Finally,this research applied teaching design case to classroom teaching.It explored the implementation of the teaching case on the students STEM learning interest and STEM literacy through the questionnaire survey and students interview.The conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)The STEM literacy scale system of middle school students can be used to realize the quantitative evaluation of students’ STEM literacy,and questionnaires based on assessment system help teachers to understand students’ STEM literacy.(2)This study under the guidance of STEM concept of chemical teaching design has a scientific theoretical basis and valid results.This chemistry teaching design applied to teaching practice,improving students learning STEM interest and STEM literacy to a certain extent. |
