The Dilemmas Of Social Integration And The Strategies About Intervention Of Social Work For Muslim Women

With the rapid development of our society,the number of floating population in cities grows at an Unprecedented rate and is continuously expanding.Muslim women are among them.In this extensive and intensive background,not only do they face general problems encountered by other migration women,but also face language,culture,life habits,the needs for religious places,the wishes to be accepted and be respected,all of which are unique,to some extent,to them.So we need to focus on this group to find out what they do,how they feel and how to solve these problems.Based on the above background,this study mainly discusses from the following aspects:The first part is the introduction which mainly pointed out the background of the social integration of Muslim migrant women,the research questions and the significance of the research from the macro level.The second part is the research literature review which is divided into three aspects;first,the social integration of the floating minority population;second,the problems of urban floating women;third,the theories of social system.Through the review of the social integration of the floating minority population,the review provided four dimensions of analytic framework:"economic integration","the integration of social life",“the integration of religion and culture”,and“psychological identity”.The review of the problems of urban floating women compared the researches of floating women.The theories of social system is the theoretical basis of this thesis.The research methods and the analytic framework are the third part of this thesis.This part introduced the detailed research design of the thesis from several aspects:“the selection of research object”,"the design of the interview outline","the selection of the research methods",“research ethics”,and etc.This part also pointed out the analytic perspective for the intervention of the social integration of floating Muslim women based on the theories of social system.The fourth part is the results and the analyses.This part described the situation of the social integration of Muslim floating women in Nanjing city from four dimensions:economic integration,social life,religion and culture,and the psychological identity.To specifically explain the problems of social integration,this part also illustrated various problems including the monthly income,living conditions,consumption status,social interaction,social support,religious and cultural activities,residence willingness,and etc.The fifth part is the reason analysis.Through the detailed discussion of individual,family and environment of Muslim floating women,this study found the reasons for the dilemmas of the social integration of Muslim floating women.The seasons mainly included the lower self-awareness,the insufficiency of self-ability,the lack of family support network,and the influence of the factor of religious environment.The sixth part is the conclusion part of the thesis.First,this part summarized and discussed the suggestions for the social integration of Muslim floating women based on current policies and researches.Then to reduce the difficulties in the process of social integration for Muslim floating women,starting with the perspective of the theories of social system,through the specific methods of social work,this study put forward the intervention strategies based on three specific problems of social integration for Muslim floating women,including individual(micro system),family(middle system)and the religious and cultural environment(macro system).
