Generally speaking,"Assortative homogamy" is a relatively stable assortative mating pattern, but due to large inequalities and asymmetries in real life, such as gender imbalances, physiological differences, income gaps, gender differences in the labor market, etc."Assortative gradient" is widespread.Based on the perspective of gender differences in the labor market, this article establishes theoretical assortative mating models, and uses the Chinese General Social Survey(CGSS)to construct an empirical model to explain how gender differences in the labor market affect gender assortative mating behaviors and patterns. The preliminary results show that single groups with good career prospects are more likely to choose to delay entering the marriage market, and that the delay effect of women is greater than that of men.The reason why assortative mating pattern in age dimension is indeed a "husband old wife young" pattern based on the same age marriage,is that men have long dominated the labor market and their career prospects are better than women. With the increase of women’s years of education and the improvement of their economic and social status, the probability of a matching pattern of "wife old husband young",that is,"toyboy",is increasing. The research is conducive to confronting the seriousness of social marriage problems in our country, which will not only enrich academic research in this field, but also be beneficial to the development of related policies such as promoting marriage, fertility, and education.
