During the Ming and Qing dynasties,it was a transitional period from the traditional feudal society to the modern society.Wang Fuzhi was an outstanding thinker and philosopher during the Ming and Qing dynasties. He lived through the decline of the Ming Dynasty and the rise of the Qing Dynasty. He lived in a time of war,and he felt deeply the importance of social stability and the important role of the people in history. In the last years of the Ming Dynasty, the political corruption and social conflicts became more and more serious as the abuse and exposure of the highly centralized absolute monarchy system became more and more obvious.Wang Fuzhi traced back the history of gain and loss of the dynasty,to learn from the past to the present, summed up the Ming Dynasty's demise of the profound lessons. He understood the importance of people's support, and reached the historical conclusion that the ruler must put people first if he wanted to keep the country stable.Wang Fuzhi respected Confucianism and his thought of attaching great importance to the people came into being on the basis of inheriting the traditional Confucian thought of attaching great importance to the people. This paper first discusses the economic, political and cultural background of the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty on the impact of Wang Fuzhi's ideology of the people, sorting out the context of Wang Fuzhi's ideology of the people.Secondly, the main content of Wang Fuzhi's thought of attaching importance to the people is discussed from three aspects: Wang Fuzhi's re-understanding of the relationship between the traditional monarch and the people, the relationship between the feudal officials and the people, and the issue of people's livelihood in the feudal society.Wang Fuzhi's thought of attaching importance to the people is based on the people and based on the premise of "the world is the public".He hoped that the monarch would attach importance to the people, strictly administer the officials,be lenient in supporting the people, and light the corvee to protect the people's livelihood,so as to achieve the common people's peaceful living and working, the ideal of a long-term national security. In the last part of the thesis, the author summarizes and evaluates Wang Fuzhi's thought from its limitations andprogressiveness.Although Wang Fuzhi's thought has obvious class limitation,it can not deny its advanced significance. On the one hand, his thought of attaching importance to the people inherited and developed the Chinese traditional thought of attaching importance to the people,on the other hand,he criticized the feudal traditional absolute monarchy system and played a certain enlightening role for the liberation of Chinese modern democratic thought. At present,China has entered a new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and Wang Fuzhi's thought of attaching importance to the people has been endowed with a new connotation of the Times. To study Wang fuzhi's thought of valuing the people has positive implications for the construction of socialist democratic politics with people as the foundation, the construction of service-oriented government, the strengthening of clean government and the promotion of common prosperity.Today,we should learn from our traditional culture, take its essence, discard its dross, and make it better for the building of socialist democracy.
