The trust model’s political representation is one of the important components of many representative models in the formal representative system. It is also known as a fiduciary, trustee or independent representative. This model is based on the trustee theory and originated from the trust bequest system of the British feudal period,Later,it was introduced into the political field by thinkers represented by Edmund Burke, and became a kind of representative theoretical logic for explaining the relationship between political representatives and citizens. Its essence can be briefly summarized as follows: the representative is not bound by the voter ’s instruction and is independent Make a political decision. However, behind this seemingly simple conclusion,it actually contains a very complex set of logic and political values. On the contrary, the current standard interpretation of political representation regards political representatives and citizens as a principal-agent relationship: representatives should act in accordance with their political commitment to voters. However,it is difficult to fully respond to the actual practice of political representation by following the principal-agent logic of the study of representative theory, especially in the context of the citizen’s anomalistic state today, and other theories are urgently needed to make up for it.Starting from the theoretical logic of trust model’s political representation, the traditional principal-agent model can be supplemented in the range of the representative groups, and there is also a transcendence to the traditional model in the value orientation of the representatives. Therefore, this article will firstly investigate the development process of trust model’s political representation;secondly, normative analysis is carried out to explain its connotation of the form and substance;finally,a comparative analysis of the two political representation models aims to reveal the overall appearance of trust model’s political representation and highlight its supplement and transcendence over the traditional principal-agent model.
