Research On The Contemporary Value Of May 4th Scientific Spirit

The scientific spirit of the May 4th Movement is composed of innovative spirit,realistic spirit,seeking truth spirit and empirical spirit.The scientific spirit of the May 4th Movement was put forward and advocated under certain political,economic and cultural conditions,with the inevitability of the times,and its contents are still quite advanced so far,which is of great practical significance to cultivate and shape the national scientific spirit to catch up with the developed countries and so on.Through the social foundation of the formation of the May 4th Scientific Spirit,this paper analyzes the connotation of the May4 th Scientific Spirit and draws the contemporary value of the May 4th Scientific Spirit.First of all,the political foundation of the formation of the May 4th scientific spirit lies in the disintegration of the feudal autocratic society,the preliminary introduction of the Westernization Movement to the western scientific thought,and the final comprehensive introduction of the scientific spirit in the May 4th period,which made the scientific spirit truly spread among the masses.Due to the influence of traditional culture,intellectuals in the May 4th period also had some limitations on the dissemination and understanding of scientific spirit.In addition,the development of civilian economy in China makes the scientific spirit of modernity an urgent need.With the establishment and disse mination of scientific spirit in China and the introduction of Marxism,some in tellectuals have made an understanding of the connotation of scientific spirit from the development needs of the times at that time.It mainly includes the critical and innovative view of knowledge,the determination to pursue truth bravely,the promotion of natural science to natural science and social science,and the empirical scientific research method.The understanding of the connotation of the May 4th scientific spirit is constantly updated with the development of the times.The connotation of the contemporary May 4th scientific spirit can be established as a Marxist scientific research method under the guiding ideology of Marxism,and adhere to the ideological line of seeking truth from facts.Through the interpretation and establishment of the connotation of the contemp orary May 4th scientific spirit,some thoughts on practicing the May 4th scientific spirit are made.First,further strengthen the Marxist belief.Secondly,cultivate the social environment that advocates science.Thirdly,improve citizens' scientific literacy and scientific thinking.Finally,improve the institutional mechanism of scientific and technological innovation.Practice has proved that in the guiding ideology of social development,the scientific spirit has played a great leading role.
