China has entered the rapid development period of urbanization, and the demand for urban public service facilities is increasing with the continuous increase of urban population. However, negative externalities such as waste incineration plant s,nuclear power plants, sewage treatment plants, infectious disease hospitals and other " NIMBY facilities " are vulnerable to people’s opposition, frequently triggering large-scale "collective action" resistance events, and NIMBY facilities projects continue to fall into the " NIMBY dilemma" of "people make trouble and stop".It not only seriously hinders the construction process of public service facilities in China, but also poses a great threat to the stable development of society. How to avoid collective action in the NIMBY conflict has become a major problem that needs to be solved in urban development and urban governance in China. This paper intends to start the research from the social psychological motivation of public participation in collective action in the NIMBY conflict,in order to find the countermeasures to prevent and manage the collective action in the NIMBY conflict,so as to promote the successful construction of NIMBY facilities and reduce the risk of social development instability. The research content of this paper mainly includes the social psychological explanation framework of collective action in the NIMBY conflict, the construction of social psychological motivation model of public participation in collective action and the formulation of response strategies of public participation in collective action.First of all,the theory of relative deprivation, inter group emotion, resource mobilization and social identity are integrated, and the social psychological interpretation framework of collective action in NIMBY conflict is proposed. Then,we choose the corresponding social psychological motivation variables, use the social psychological interpretation framework and the existing literature research to logically summarize and propose the hypothesis relationship,so as to build the social psychological motivation model of public participation in collective action in the NIMBY conflict. Then through the method of questionnaire and structural equation model statistical analysis, the empirical test of the model is carried out to clarify the path of action and the degree of influence between the relevant variables. Finally, combined with the model framework and empirical test results, this paper analyzes the social and psychological motivations of public participation in collective action in the NIMBY conflict, and develops the response strategies of collective action in the NIMBY conflict. The results are helpful to reveal the social psychological mechanism of collective action in the NIMBY conflict, and have some reference value for the government to solve the problem of NIMBY conflict. |
