Empirical Research On College Students’ Political Identity

College students represent the future of a country,and their political identity has an important impact on the country’s political development.It has of great significance to study the current situation of college students’ political identity and to put forward suggestions on how to improve it for maintaining national political stability and promoting the healthy growth of college students.This study selected ten different universities in changsha city of hunan province college students as the research object,by reading the existing related literature and related questionnaire,choose from the political values,political identification,political entity identity specification agree with three dimensions to design the questionnaire of college students’ political identification,a questionnaire to collect data by questionnaire star software.Then,SPSS software was used to analyze the data of the questionnaire,and the basic situation of political identity of college students was obtained.We found that the general situation of college students’ political identity is good.In the aspect of political values,college students are in a state of high recognition it,but their political thoughts are contradictory and hypocritical when they choose values.In the aspect of entity identity,college students have a relatively high degree of recognition for the leaders of the party central committee,but theyhave a relatively low degree of recognition for national civil servants.In the aspect of political normative identification,college students are relatively satisfied with the current policies,regulations and laws.Through regression model analysis,it is concluded that the political identity of college students is most significantly affected by their gender,school type,access to political information and political efficacy.The political identity of female college students is lower than that of male college students.In terms of school types,the students with the highest degree of political identity are ordinary undergraduates,followed by students from project 985 and project 211 universities,and then junior college students.In different channels of obtaining political information,college students who obtain political information through mainstream media have a higher sense of identity than those who obtain political information from foreign portal.There is a significant positive correlation between college students’ political efficacy and political identity.Finally,this study puts forward suggestions to improve the political identity of college students from four perspectives: political socialization,media to obtain political information,political efficacy and female political identity.
