An Analysis Of US Trump Administration's Trade Policy Toward China

US-China relation is the most important pair of relations between powers in the world today.Of which,as the "thruster" of US-China relation,trade relation has developed consistently and steadily for a long time,which has benefited a lot for both of the two countries and the people.After Trump administration came to power in the US,the US trade policy toward China made the trade relation between the two countries suddenly in a sharp downward spiral with high tension for some time.It mainly analyzed the U.S.trade policy to China after the Trump administration came into power from the following four aspects.First of all,it reviewed the U.S.trade policy to China,introduced the development of the U.S.trade to China and the stage performance of the trade policy after the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.Second,it combed main contents of the Trump administration's trade policy to China:taking the formulation of trade policy against China as the basis of its foreign trade policy,the technology blockade was continuously taken against China's science and technology and investment field,the trade investigation to China was carried out repeatedly in the name of domestic law,and the punitive tariff was used as the main trade protection means.The formulation of trade policy has been raised to the national security level,and then it summed up the characteristics of the U.S.trade policy to China in this period.AHP was used again to analyzed the causes of the policy adjustment were that the relative advantages of the U.S.economy at the international level were shrinking,the Chinese economy was growing,the domestic consumption power of the U.S.at the domestic level was insufficient,the economy was troubled by the "double deficit",and the factors such as Trump's personal and party interests were combined.Finally,this paper discussed the impact of policy adjustment,policy changes have an impact on both countries,resulting in increasing trade friction between the two countries.Finally,it was concluded that the trade imbalance between the U.S.and China will be difficult to eliminate in the short term,and the U.S.will constantly adjust its trade policy to China in the future with the degree of trade friction.China should respond positively to the possible direction of policy adjustment,such as deepening the process of domestic reform and opening up at the economic level,adjusting the trade structure,speeding up the industrial transformation and developing high and new technology,using negotiations at the political level to strengthen the consensus on strategic cooperation,actively promoting the reform of the global emergency governance system,and building a multi-level community of interests.Based on the analysis of the U.S.trade policy to China,this paper aimed to improve the analysis of the U.S.trade policy to China during the period of Trump administration,so as to perfect the foreign and internal policies in line with China's current international and domestic political and economic environment,and to respond more effectively to America's continuously adjusted trade policy to China in the present and future.
