Analysis On The British Conspiratorial Activities In Tibet Around 1949

Since being the integral part of China’s territory since the Yuan Dynasty,Tibetan has been under the jurisdiction of the central government.China possesses sacrosanct sovereignty over Tibet In modern history of China,Britain was one of the first countries to invade Tibet,causing the border crisis to China unprecedently.The British government has repeatedly sent invadesr into Tibet to stir up the conspiracy of "Tibetan independence" in an attempt to separate Tibet from China.Before and after the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949,the British imperialists that remained in Tibet instigated a series of conspiratorial activities to thwart the peaceful liberation of Tibet by the Chinese Communist Party and undermine China’s peaceful reunification.This paper is mainly divided into six chapters.The first chapter is introduction,which mainly discusses the basis and significance of the selected topic.It has summarized the present research situation at home and abroad and illustrates the research methods and innovations of this paper.The second chapter focuses on the historical evolution of British invasion of Tibet.The third chapter analyzes Hugh Edward Richardson’s conspiracy to interfere in Tibet’s government affairs.In this part,it firstly introduces the life of Hugh Edward Richardson,the "Tibetan Hand”.Secondly,it teases Hugh Edward Richardson’s involvement in Tibet’s government affairs and conspiratorial activities of "Tibet independence" during his tenure as head of the British Mission and Indian Mission in Lhasa.Finally,his activities in Tibet are summarized.The fourth chapter explores the secret separatist activities carried out by the British missionary Dr.George Paterson in Tibet.First of all,it introduces the life experiences of Paterson.Secondly,according to the foreign materials,it analyzes Paterson’s activities to actively sought foreign asistance for "Tibet independence",and secretly contacted the United States to instil the separatist activities of dalai lama’s escape.Finally,his conspiracy behaviors are summarized in Tibet.The fifth chapter has investigated Robert Ford’s activities to derail the peaceful liberation of Tibet.First of all,it introduces the life experiences of "captured spy" Ford.Secondly,it elaborates Ford’s acts of undermining the peaceful liberation of Tibet during his stay in Tibet according to foreign historical material.Finally,his actions are summarized in Tibet.The sixth chapter evaluates and analyzes the essence of the British imperialists’interference in Tibet around the founding of new China.It clearly points out that their conspiratorial activities in Tibet are in fact a continuation of imperialist aggression against Tibet and an important part of imperialist colonial aggression against China.It has exposed the bad nature of imperialism that relies on strong interference in other countries’ internal affairs,all of which has seriously damaged China’s national sovereignty.
