| After the human civilization entered the 20~thh century, the environmental problems became more and more obvious and attracted the attention of many people. The root causes of environmental problems and the solutions to them have gradually evolved into problems for contemporary people to think deeply. The ecological movements produced in this environment have achieved rapid development on a global scale. Many people have made significant differences in the fields of thoughts and values, and on this basis they have evolved into multiple factions, ecological socialism. It is a key component.Through long-term development, the status and influence of this idea has been significantly improved. As the representative of this idea,Joel Kovel inherits the critical thought put forward by Marx, explores the root cause of the crisis based on the anti-ecological view of capital, and proposes the expansion and penetration of capital. It has led to the emergence of the current ecological crisis.Only by realizing the fundamental institutional reform can we effectively deal with ecological problems.Capitalist reform cannot completely solve the ecological crisis. The research in this paper is divided into five chapters:Chapter one introduces the topic and significance of the paper, and analyses the research results of domestic and foreign scholars on Kovel’s ecological socialism.Chapter two analyses the background of Kovel’s eco-socialism thought, including the theoretical background and the realistic background.Chapter three introduces Kovel’s critical thought of eco-socialism,including his criticism of ecological crisis,eco-political theory and traditional socialist system under capitalist system.Chapter four introduces the construction thought of Kovel’s ecological socialism, including the construction mode, goal and path.Chapter five illustrates the characteristics of Kovel’s eco-socialism,which contributes to the theory of scientific socialism, but also has its limitations.Kovel’s theory of eco-socialism criticizes the capitalist School of eco-politics and traditional socialism, and insists on analyzing the imbalance between human social development and ecology from the perspective of Marxism, which is the inheritance and development of Marxism, but there are also a large number of Utopian elements, and its limitations are obvious. |
