Terrorism has always been a huge threat to the EU,and its manifestations have also changed over time.Since the rise of the "Islamic State",the jihadist terrorism in Europe has become the biggest threat of terrorism faced by the European Union. The shocking terrorist attacks have been frequently reported. The identity of the planners and creators behind these indigenous terrorist attacks has also changed dramatically,as local European citizens replacing past foreign terrorists.Among the EU countries,France has suffered the most from terrorism.Since 2015,grave local terrorist attacks in France have ranked first among EU countries. Most of these terrorist attacks were initiated by adolescents of French nationality, and the phenomenon of adolescent radicalization has become a problem that the French government cannot ignore and urgently need to solve. As a new social phenomenon that has received attention, its situation lacks effective combing, and there are different perspectives on analyzing the factors which affect the radicalization of adolescent. This thesis takes French teenagers as the research object, analyzes the radicalization of adolescents in France, and discusses the external factors and internal factors that influence the radicalization of French adolescents. The main body of this thesis is divided into four parts. The first chapter is theoretical research.Firstly,it discusses the definition and theory of "radicalization".It sorts out the discussion of the concept of "radicalization" by governments and academic circles, and puts forward the analysis of this paper under the theoretical construction of predecessors. The French adolescent radicalization process is influenced by both external factors and internal factors. The external factors are mainly the online and offline propaganda activities of extreme organizations, while the internal factors are analyzed from the national, social and individual levels. In the second chapter, this thesis sorts out the current situation of adolescent radicalization in France, illustrates the main groups of radicalization of adolescents and expounds the uniqueness of France as the most affected and most serious country in the phenomenon of local terrorism in the EU.In the third chapter and the fourth chapter, the thesis discusses the external factors and internal factors in detail. In terms of external factors, extreme organizations jointly carry out the propaganda impact through both offline and online: using the French religious sites which accept foreign funds and personnel funding,as well as the overaccommodated prisons to carry out the offline dissemination of radical ideas;using the convenient and efficient Internet to carry on the comprehensive online propaganda. In terms of internal factors, the radicalization of French teenagers is mainly formed by the combination of three factors: first, the national factors, including French colonial history, immigration model dilemma and French international counter-terrorism actions;second, social factors, including high social welfare, marginalized social status and discriminatory public policies;third,individual-level factors, including education level, employment difficulties, and formation of identity. The combination of these factors contributed to the radicalization of French teenagers and led to a serious situation of terrorism in France. In the face of the radicalization of French teenagers, the French government must not only prevent the external factors, such as the “Islamic State” network propaganda, but also face up to its own policy issues and eliminate the internal radicalization factors.
