Research On The Phenomenon Of Network Populism In Contemporary China

populism has become a trend of thought sweeping the world,which has exerted varying degrees of influence on the political and social world.In the context of China,populist discourse and actions are mainly concentrated in the cyberspace of the Internet,posing certain challenges to China's modern national governance.This study firstly sorts out the occurrence pattern of populist ideological trend in various countries around the world,clarifies the basic concept and implication of populism,and then makes an in-depth analysis of the occurrence mechanism of Chinese online populism.Furthermore,the influence of populism on China's political society and other fields is analyzed.Finally,on the basis of drawing lessons from the western experience,this paper probes into the possible paths for the regulation and governance of populism in China.Seen from the types of network populism,it can be mainly divided into political populism,national populism,economic populism and cultural populism.Specifically,there are four types of online populism: the first type is political populism formed by the combination of populism and representative democracy,and its typical feature is to appeal to the direct rule of the people and implement direct democracy.The second type is the national populism formed by the combination of populism and nationalism,which is characterized by blind xenophobia and anti-globalization.The third type is the combination of populism and economic problems,which constitutes economic populism.The fourth type is the cultural populism formed by the combination of populism and regional cultural prejudice.This study mainly adopts the method of case study,conducts comparative case analysis on the specific manifestations of network populism,and puts forward the path of dredging and regulation on this basis.Through the adjustment of political discourse,the improvement of social governance means,the shaping and cultivation of modern rational citizens,improve the supervision mechanism and other four aspects to regulate and guide.
