A Study On Strauss's Political Philosophy In The Context Of Modernity Reflection

Strauss's political philosophy is not the philosophy of the political system,nor is it the philosophy of political phenomena,but it should be understood as the political science of philosophy,but Strauss himself is opposed to the excessive involvement of philosophy in politics,and also to the political philosophy.This is quite contrary to Marx's "philosophy of transforming the world," because in his view,politics and philosophy are essentially opposite categories,and politics depends on opinions to survive.The nature of philosophical inquiry is undoubtedly a great threat and challenge to politics.One of the reasons for the crisis of modernity lies in the loss of the necessary prudence in the relationship between politics and philosophy,which not only leads to Sugar Luddy's death also led to the crisis of political philosophy.Strauss thus led the way to resolve the conflict between politics and philosophy,even by using the philosophical writing skills of classical political philosophy-"subtle words" and "obvious words".This philosophical writing technique together with advocating free education and taking philosophy as a way of life,like Socrates,constitutes Strauss' s political philosophy.This article will start from the following four aspects,try to present Strauss' political philosophy.The first part starts with the starting point of Strauss' political philosophy: modernity and modernity,and analyzes briefly the concept of modernity and Strauss' s understanding of modernity,as well as the relationship between modernity and political philosophy.This paper analyzes the rebellious road of modern political philosophy along Strauss' s train of thought,as well as the process of its reduction to ideology.Finally,this paper discusses Strauss' s analysis and diagnosis of modernity.The second part shows Strauss' s criticism of the three waves of modernity development.According to Strauss,the crisis of modernity began with Machiavelli,who opened the rebellious road of classical political philosophy and founded modern political philosophy,which isessentially an ideology.Modernity develops through Hobbes,Rousseau,Nietzsche and Heidegger into the crisis of modernity,and the peak of the crisis of modernity,according to Strauss,is nihilism.The third part is the prescription of Strauss for the crisis of the political philosophy.A brief analysis of the political philosophy of the restoration of the original meaning by Strauss,that is,the classical political philosophy,and the explanation of the political philosophy and the basis of the existence of the classical political philosophy.Strauss' s claim to return to the classical political philosophy to overcome the crisis of modernity,including the philosophy of philosophy as a way of life,the restoration of the philosophy writing skill of the classical period,the conflict between politics and philosophy,the popularization of free education as the true support of democracy.The fourth part is a review of Strauss' s political philosophy.The contemporary value of Strauss' s political philosophy and its enlightenment and reflection are analyzed.This paper tries to make a fair and objective evaluation on the political philosophy of Strauss from the front and back.
