Research On Criminal Investigation Mechanism Of Illegally Excavating And Robbing Ancient Cultural Sites Or Ancient Tombs

The rising popularity of antiquity collection has stimulated alarming increase in antiquity-related crimes,especially illegal excavation of cultural sites or ancient tombs,unprecedented in its rarity,number and value.Despite various methods used by local police,little has been achieved in constraining the occurrence of such crimes.Build on previous research results,this research sorts out the main questions faced by such investigations,taking into consideration of current investigation of crimes of illegally excavating and robbing ancient cultural sites or ancient tombs,related social and historical background and current characteristics of such crimes in our country.Targeting such questions,this paper analyzes first-hand data obtained from police authorities in areas rich in cultural sites,and concludes five major mechanisms to solve the current inefficiency in investigation,including perfecting the investigation mechanism led by intelligence information,constructing an all-round and three-dimensional case digging mechanism,unblocking the investigation coordination mechanism of multiple departments,and promoting the professionalism of investigation teams.With the above analysis,the author proposes the establishment of an overall investigation mechanism,optimizing the cooperation and coordination in and between police authorities,and with authorities in charge of cultural sites,so as to improve the overall quality and effect of handling such cases.
