Since the beginning of this century,China’s population aging process has made pension problem prominent with family miniaturization,economic and social transition.In response to the deep aging society,China’s pension system has been continuously reformed and improved into which with basic pension insurance,enterprise annuity & occupational annuity,personal savings & commercial pension insurance at present.Expanding pension system coverage,and continued improvement in the level of benefits,effectively safeguard elderly’s pension life,increase the well-being of the masses,and maintaining social justice.At the same time,the living arrangements for the elderly in our country are changing.Traditionally,elder people usually live together with their adult children and enjoy old-age care services provided by their children because of the culture of filial piety.However,as the economy develops and the concept changes,more and more elder people choose to live alone or live with their spouses,rather than living with their adult children.Does the rapid development of endowment insurance lead to the change of living arrangements for the elderly? Taking the urban elderly as an example,this article uses CHARLS2013 and explores the influence of the number of types of pension that the elderly is participating in or has received and different levels of pension income on theirs living arrangements through theoretical and empirical analysis.The major findings are as follows:(1)The number of types of pension that the urban elderly is participating in or has received has a significant effect to theirs living arrangements;(2)Pension income level has a significant effect to urban elder people’s living arrangements.
