At present,internet fraud is rampant day by day,and the losses caused by it are increasing year by year.According to statistics,social media has become the main channel for the spread and implementation of internet fraud.For example,through Wechat,QQ or other social software to send false shopping links to victims,cheating victims of money.Through social platform,we can gain the victim’s trust by daily chat,and cheat the victim’s money by borrowing money in unexpected situations and recommending false financial products.Many social media users are difficult to detect in the face of internet fraud.Previous studies have suggested that the main factors affecting the deception detection are the technical means of fraud,the individual psychology of the deceived,education and experience.But does the media have an impact on the deception detection of its users? At present,there is no clear conclusion in academic circles.In addition,a few scholars have studied the personal deception detection behavior in e-mail,short message,website and other media,but few have studied the personal deception detection behavior and its influencing factors in social media.Based on this,this thesis first consults the relevant literature on the relationship between media and deception detection,internet fraud in social media,deception detection and the governance of internet fraud in social media.From the perspective of communication,the dissemination characteristics of social media influencing users’ internet deception detection behavior in social media include four aspects: subject characteristics,group characteristics,information characteristics and platform characteristics.Among them,the subject characteristics include activity,publisher identity,trust level,information matching and interaction frequency,the group characteristics include other people’s comments,information characteristics include content format,platform characteristics include prompt information,publishing channels and interaction channels.Then combined with the media synchronicity theory,interpersonal deception theory and the model of deception detection,the research hypothesis is put forward,and the theoretical model of the impact of social media communication characteristics on user’ internet deception detection behavior is constructed.Secondly,we collect the data related to internet fraud in social media by questionnaire survey,and form the final analysis data by pretreatment of the collected data.Then we use SPSS software for correlation test,single factor significance test and binary logistic regression analysis.The research found that the significant positive impact on the user’s internet deception detection behavior were other people’s comments,platform prompt information and publishing channels.The significant negative impact on the social media user’s internet deception detection behavior were publisher’s activity,trust,information matching and interaction times.In addition,in terms of content format,users have the highest probability of detecting fraudulent information in the form of text,and the lowest probability of detecting fraudulent information in the form of video or audio.Finally,based on the conclusions of the study,some suggestions are put forward to prevent internet fraud in social media.The first is improving the platform prompting mechanism,including enriching the types of prompting information and increasing the channels of information prompting.Secondly,improving the level of platform supervision,including enhancing the security supervision of user accounts,increasing the management of dissemination content,and encouraging users to report illegal accounts in time.Thirdly,strengthen deception detection education,including enhancing personal privacy concerns and improving users’ social media awareness.This thesis innovatively applies communication theory,media synchronicity theory,interpersonal deception theory and model of deception detection to the construction of internet deception detection analysis framework in social media,puts forward the influencing factors of user internet deception detection in social media context,and establishes a theoretical model of internet deception detection behavior of social media users.It will help to form a scientific system governance mechanism to combat deception detection,and provide a theoretical basis for the government,universities and social media to formulate targeted prevention strategies against internet fraud.
