The Research On Overseas Chinese Network,Organizational Learning And OFDI Reverse Technology Spillover Effect Of Chinese Enterprises

Under the background of economic globalization and the guidance of "going out" strategy,more and more Chinese enterprises are actively carrying out foreign direct investment.It has also been an important strategic goal to acquire strategic assets and improve their innovative ability through foreign direct investment for Chinese enterprises.In addition,as the continuation of the national ethnic relations network,the overseas Chinese network is an important part of the social relation network and has an important link between China and the world for Chinese multinational enterprises.However,can the overseas Chinese network affect on the innovation capability of enterprises through OFDI? How to make better use of overseas Chinese network to enhance the overseas management level of Chinese "going out" enterprises? In order to answer the above questions,based on social capital theory,social network theory and organizational learning theory,this paper explores the relationship among overseas Chinese network,organizational learning and OFDI reverse technology spillover effect of Chinese enterprises.This paper aims at providing theoretical guidance for Chinese "going out" enterprises to enhance more OFDI reverse technology spillover effect by using local overseas Chinese network and improve innovation capability.Firstly,this paper takes all enterprises in Chinese industrial enterprises database from 2005 to 2013 as sample,and studies the existence of reverse technology spillover effect of OFDI in Chinese enterprises by using propensity score matching(PSM)and logit regression model.Secondly,it takes all OFDI enterprises from 2005 to 2013 as the research object,using least square method(OLS)to analyzing the direct impact of the host country's overseas Chinese network on OFDI reverse technology spillover effect of Chinese enterprises and the moderating effect of overseas subsidiaries' organizational learning.Thirdly,this paper examines the dynamic relationship between overseas Chinese network and OFDI reverse technology spillover effect of Chinese enterprises.In addition,this paper also examed the relationship between overseas Chinese network,organizational learning and reverse OFDI technology spillover effect in the host countries along the belt and road.Through the above research and analysis,this paper eventually enduces the following conclusions: Firstly,Chinese enterprises can obtain OFDI reverse technology spillover effect by "going out",that is,Chinese enterprises can improve their innovation capability by "going out".Secondly,there is nonlinear relation between overseas Chinese network and OFDI reverse technology spillover effect of Chinese enterprises,which is expressed as “inverted U” relationship.Thirdly,organizational learning can moderate the relationship between overseas Chinese network and OFDI reverse technology spillover effect.Compared with the exploitative learning model,the explorative learning model can more negatively regulate the "inverted U" relationship between overseas Chinese network and OFDI reverse technology spillover effect of Chinese enterprises.In addition,the condition is identical in the host countries along the belt and road.Fourthly,the influence of overseas Chinese network on OFDI reverse technology spillover effect of Chinese enterprises is dynamic.The relationship between overseas Chinese network and OFDI reverse technology spillover effect of Chinese enterprises will change with the duration of OFDI in the host country.Compared with the enterprises with long duration of OFDI,the OFDI reverse technology spillover effect of enterprises with short duration of OFDI is more affected by the host country overseas Chinese network.Finally,based on these conclusions,and united the physical truth of Chinese enterprises,this paper comes up with relevant suggestions and countermeasures from the nation and enterprise level.At the nation level,the government should increase its support to encourage enterprises to invest in foreign direct investment.At the same time,it should also pay attention to the establishment and maintenance of overseas Chinese network.At the enterprise level,the enterprise should correctly handle the relationship with the overseas Chinese network in the host country,not only to maintain good interaction with it,but also to avoid excessive embeddedness.In addition,the overseas subsidiaries,as overseas business entities,should adjust their organizational learning model appropriately so as to maintain the optimum level of the promotion of the reverse technology spillover effect of Chinnese OFDI enterprise.From the perspective of social network and network embeddedness,this paper enriches the research content of this topic by incorporating overseas Chinese network and organizational learning of overseas subsidiaries into the research framework of reverse technology spillover effect of OFDI.The research provides the theroretical significance,and it puts forward the guidance for the government and enterprises to more scientifically and rationally use overseas Chinese network to obtain greater reverse technology spillover effect of OFDI,and improve their innovation ability.It has important practical significance for Chinese enterprises to upgrade their innovation level and realize the transition of innovation ability through OFDI.
