Resource Links In Case Services For Children Living In Difficulties In X District Of Suzhou City

During past few years,the issue of children who live in difficulties has become a concern for both the government and the society.Government and all social sectors have taken measures to protect this group and safeguard the rights and interests of these children.Children living in difficulties has been one of the special vulnerable groups in China.This issue must be settled properly as it is not only related to their own healthy development,but also to the harmony and stability of our society and the construction of socialist new countryside.At present,children living in difficulties have developed needs both physically and mentally,and they are faced with many problems and difficulties.The main reason is the lack of resources,which is manifested through the singularity of social relationship among family members,the inefficiency of information circulation and communication,and the inadequate understanding of government policies and welfare.Social workers are resource linkers.They could help to connect the needs of children living in difficulties with the right social resources.Therefore,social work is playing an important role in linking resources between children living in difficulties and entities such as the governments.This study analysed the needs of different types of children in difficulties at the economic,living and spiritual levels and the relevant social resources.It took the case of the minors living in difficulties social protection project in X district,Suzhou as an example and used interview and case study to collect data.With the professional methods and techniques used in social works,this study linked and integrated their needs with families,governments,schools,communities,and social organization resources,and then evaluated the effectiveness with the intervention of social work.It summarized the role of resources links in dealing with children living in difficulties and reflected the advantages and disadvantages in practice.Finally,it put forward the following suggestions and was hoping to be the reference for resources links in social work services.First,establishing a resource bank to ensure the universality and sustainability of resources.Second,paying attention to the effectiveness of using resources and building a service tracking mechanism.Third,improving the professional knowledge and recognition of social workers.
