| Civil conflicts not only cause serious damage of property,but also a large number of casualties.The prevention of conflicts is definitely important,but most civil conflicts erupt after the failure of the conflict mediation mechanism.A peaceful domestic and international environment is essential for a country’s political,economic and social development.As a process of developing willingness of mutual compromise and concession,national reconciliation is an important strategy to resolve ethnic conflicts and hostilities.First,this paper analyzes the internal conflicts from the perspective of the theory of conflict,in terms of causes of civil conflicts,individual’s psychological factors,ethnic identity,and government’s lacking of authority,all these factors may trigger civil conflicts,including ethnic and revolutionary conflicts.Secondly,it discusses the influence factors of national reconciliation after civil conflicts,including the internal factors such as the interests of conflicting parties,history,identity,and the balance of power.Besides,there are also external factors such as the national regime and the efficacy of law,the promotion of domestic groups and human rights organizations,and the international intervention as the spillover effects of conflicts.The internal and external factors which affect the reconciliation are not separate but often intertwined,affecting the initiation and effects of reconciliation.Finally,the paper studies the paths and effect of reconciliation after civil conflicts,including domestic paths such as peaceful negotiations,power sharing and transitional justice and international path.And then through the analysis of different country’s cases,it tries to maximize the effect of national reconciliation through comparing different paths,to find that the choice and effect of reconciliation path are influenced by different reconciliation goal,characteristics of ethnic conflict,and countries’ democratization degree. |
