Research On Police Security Management Of Yunnan-Vietnam Railway 1910-1940

During the late Qing and Republic of China,imperialism strengthened its aggression against China by building railways in China.In order to protect China’s sovereignty from infringement,the Chinese government often safeguards China’s sovereignty by setting up railway police.Railway police have developed with the rise of Railways and are dependent on railways.They play an important role in Chinese history.This paper takes the police of Yunnan-Vietnam Railway as the research object,makes a detailed exposition on the establishment of Yunnan-Vietnam Railway Police by using the archives and other materials of Yunnan Archives,and makes a detailed interpretation of the game between China and France in the process of the establishment of Yunnan-Vietnam Railway Police.The establishment of Yunnan-Vietnam Railway Police has profound historical roots.Against the background of internal and external troubles,the fundamental purpose of Yunnan-Vietnam Road Police was to protect the road rights of the late Qing Dynasty,and then to safeguard China’s sovereignty from harm.Railway police’s management of public security along the railway,the management of foreigners coming to China in different periods and the game between France and China in order to safeguard road rights are the focus of this paper.The purpose of this paper is to take the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway Police as an example,hoping to provide reference for the management of Chinese railways and the public security management of contemporary railway police on railways.This paper focuses on the security management of railway by Yunnan-Vietnam Railway Police.Through the detailed discussion of Yunnan-Vietnam Railway Police’s seizure of bandits along the railway and protection of the people along the railway and the workers’shed of Yunnan-Vietnam Railway Company,the protection of Railway Materials by railway police,the treatment of the public soldiers without tickets and the undesirable policemen.,and the management of foreigners coming to China,it is concluded that there is turbulence in Yunnan-Vietnam Railway Police.Under the historical environment,due to the corruption within the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway Police System,the railway has not been effectively protected,resulting in various kinds of public security incidents occurring frequently,giving legal persons an excuse to protect the railway themselves repeatedly.Therefore,the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway Police has not really completed the severe tasks entrusted to them in the turbulent times.
