This paper studies contemporary Amdo Tibetan nomadic cultural shifts.The research mainly uses field research and oral history collection methods,taking Tsokyid’s life story and experience as an entry point to analyze,discover and grasp traces of cultural changes in nomadic tribes by reconstructing Tsokyid’s life history through her narratives.This research used the experience of a contemporary resettlement underwent by the tribe due to a national defense construction of People’s Republic of China as breakthrough point,this paper collected and recorded the whole life history of an “ordinary” woman from Lhamo Dayu tribe to further explore and study individual life changes throughout history.The key word of this paper is nomadic culture,it started from her birth into a Tibetan nomadic family,and the experience of political resettlement in her youth as a new form of "nomadism",further continued into her struggle to settle down and late life “nomadism”.This article is built around changes of Tsokyid’s nomadic life,marriage and family life,and her religious practice including pilgrimage and chanting.Try to reconstruct nearly 80 years history of Lhamo Dayu tribe through a female perspective and further discusses the social-cultural shifts and cultural adaptation on the Tibetan Plateau.This paper is an attempted research on an ordinary Tibetan woman’s life history,is also an exploration of individual life history and the related tribal changes to reflect contemporary Amdo Tibetan nomadic social shifts.
