Eco-socialism is a kind of ideological trend that developed in response to the development trend of the world’s eco-environmental problems, and gradually matured in the 1990 s.David Pepper,as one of the important representatives of this period, stood on the critical perspective of capitalism and pointed out that the root of the growing ecological crisis is the capitalist system and its intrinsic properties.on the basis of criticizing Eco-centrism and Technology-centrism and other green political theories,he put forward the idea of returning to anthropocentrism and advocate the establishment of an ecological socialist society in his theory of Eco-socialism.The study of Pepper’s theory of Eco-socialism will help us explore the solution to the ecological crisis, and it will be instructive for us to advance the construction of ecological civilization. This article will analyze Pepper’s theory of Eco-socialism in three parts. The main content of the first part is analyzing the core concept of Pepper’s "Eco-socialism: From Deep Ecology to Social Justice",and then point out the theoretical basis of Pepper’s theory of Eco-socialism.The second part discusses the core content of Pepper’s theory of Eco-socialism.This part summarizes the ideological qualities of Pepper’s theory by discussing Pepper’s reveal of the root about ecological crisis and exploring the way out of the ecological crisis. The third part evaluates and analyzes Pepper’s theory of Eco-socialism.This chapter mainly introduce the theoretical contribution and limitations of Pepper’s theory of Eco-socialism and its impact on our country.
