HUME’s Political Philosophy

This paper discusses HUME’s political philosophy from three aspects.In HUME’s political philosophy,the theory of human nature is thought base,the theory of justice is core content,and the government theory is guarantee.Firstly,the theory of human nature has a very important position in HUME’s philosophy.Hume discusses his political theory by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of human nature,which is a characteristic of HUME’s political philosophy.Hume criticized the theory of the universality and absoluteness of human"natural rights" in the "state of nature" of the previous philosophers,and from the point of view of the limited generous and selfish people’s realistic human nature,demonstrated and constructed the ideological system which embodies the unity of human self-interest and compassion,the complementarity of contract and moral identity,and the combination of justice and goodness.Secondly,on the basis of the theory of human nature,constructing a justice system that combines rules and morality is the core content of Hume’s political philosophy.Hume examines the living environment and human nature of man from the perspective of empiricism.He believes that the value of justice exists only when it is in the middle of the living environment and psychological mechanism.This justice must be the rule and virtue.Unite.The establishment of a rule of justice is to safeguard the long-term interests of individuals and society,but the premise of this rule of justice is the exchange of mutual interests between people,which requires that people must have the virtues of obeying the rules of justice,and rules and justice must also be out of People are motivated by mutual interests and aim to protect everyone’s legitimate interests.Thirdly,Hume argued that the government under the rule of law is a guarantee for respecting human nature and ensuring justice.Hume demonstrated the legitimacy and legitimacy of the government in detail.At the same time,he rigorously demonstrated the legal scope and margins of the government’s functions and stressed the importance of the government under the rule of law,based on his theory of human nature and the principles of rule justice and moral justice.Through in-depth study of the relationship between human nature and justice,human nature and government in Hume’s political philosophy,this article examines the intrinsic relevance of justice ideas and rules of justice,the establishment of government,and the origin of political authority,trying to systematically and comprehensively analyze Hume’s politics.Philosophical thinking.Although Hume’s political philosophy is inevitably limited,learning his political philosophy and analyzing his specific content of political philosophy have important reference significance for China’s current social governance and political system reform.
