Most African nations were former colonies of former western powers, including Sierra Leone and her two neighbors Guinea and Liberia. After these countries gained independence it did not took long for China as a major developing country to establish her influences through initially trade and strategically,to states-level diplomacy. This paper tries to explain how China has developed diplomacy, economic, and social-cultural sectors of especially Sierra Leone and her nearest neighbors in the sub-region.China has become most African countries most important trading partner and for some a new player in the global political arena that offers an alternative from the western developed countries. This thesis also tries to explore suggestions of some experts on Chinese influences and interests in the sub-region,who'd put forward the ideas of the establishment of a multilateral sub regional organization that would improve concerted efforts that might help to foster a compounded developments within countries that made up the Mano River Union,as these countries are undeniably very interconnected and if history has taught people living in that sub region a lesson is that;if anyone of these countries get affected with major catastrophes like internal conflicts, failed economy or a health epidemic it is highly likely the neighboring nations will suffer the effects.Since China has vast relations with African nations, yet I founded out that data on issues like the bi-lateral relations between China and Sierra Leone and the sub-region are scarce. At the turn of the 21st century China has surpassed many if not all western countries including Japan in economic, infrastructural and foreign direct aid especially to African nations. There have been many respected authorities or personalities that have reiterated time and again that if only China and her African nations can curtail the little negative setbacks in China-African relations, like political instabilities in some African nations, transparency and strengthen the governmental institutions, tackling corruption and embark on sustainable development, both African nations and China would reap considerable benefits that would change the current global political, economic and societal platform.
