and clothing's complex pattern and embroidery,modern society's clothing plays more roles in the distinction of professional types,the display of capital strength,and the expression of social etiquette.However,for the poetic society of the Republic of China,leveraging clothing for political discipline and social socialization purpose is more prominent.First of all,the new regime produced by the revolution needs to get legitimacy from cutting off queues and changing clothing.This is both the borrowing of the old politics and the general appeal of people of insight.Beginning from the late Qing Dynasty clothing changing movement,cutting off queues and changing clothing have become the sped arrow with no room to maneuver.Secondly,with the dissension of the domestic separatist forces and the multi oppression of the foreign powers,the authority needs to construct the modern nation-state and turn their subjects into nationals,which is a really rough work for any potentate.Therefore,in the process of building the modern nation-state,the authority has to mobilize and apply various political symbols frequently.Among which,as a symbol of the legality and political idea of the rulers,clothing has run through the historical process of the whole society of the Republic of China and fully exerts its function of political socialization.Among them,the suit and Chinese tunic suit,as the symbol of the new era,have attracted widespread concern.However,as the men's clothing,the long gown and mandarin jacket's political implications has attracted less attention.In my opinion,the long gown and mandarin jacket's retention in the Republic of China is not only a rational answer to the problem of revolution and inheritance,but also a manifestation of the tension between the borrowing of traditional political symbols and the establishment of new symbols,and is also one of the means of the political socialization of the government.Therefore,this discussion will provide a new perspective for the study of the modern nation-state of the Republic of China.In this paper,I simply define the long gown and mandarin jacket as a political symbol of the Republic of China,using the analysis path of the four kinds of relations that Quincy Wright put forward in the study of political symbolism,to fully explore the long gown and mandarin jacket's political implications,the value competition with other symbols,as well as the relationship with manipulators and the people affected by it.In particular,under the framework of state power,we first explore the clothing specification of the Republic of China and the orientation of the long gown and mandarin jacket in it.At the same time,based on the evolution of nationalism,the paper discusses the application of the long gown and mandarin jacket in the process of the construction of modern nation-state,and the evolution of the political value of the long gown and mandarin jacket from the survival and development of the long gown,so as to understand its important political role in the period of the Republic of China in the context of comparative analysis.Finally,it's a comprehensive summary of the multiple political implications of the gown.With further analysis of the tension between the political implications,we have to understand the inner contradictions of the gown and the motive force of the continuous development.Through a comprehensive exploration of the political implications of the gown,we find that,in the course of the construction of the modern national country,based on the evolution of the theory of nationalism and the development of the national goods movement,the long gown and mandarin jacket,from the revolutionary"Manchuria suit",became the "dress suit" for all ethnic groups,and eventually became the symbol of the traditional Chinese civilization and the patriotic dress to save the national goods.Moreover,the simple and quiet position of civilian clothes,the attachment of democratic and equal values,made the gown become one of the tools of the country's political socialization.Meanwhile,in the social level of the Republic of China,with its leisurely and elegant style,the honorable identity color and the life wisdom of the greatness in simplicity,the gown has become the most appropriate costume for Chinese people.At the same time,the unique ideological overall role of the gown makes it build a multi value interactive space in the political and cultural field,and the gown also plays the role of consolidating the national identity and carrying forward the traditional culture in this space.For the same reason,in the complicated war years,it was able to be independent and lasting.The carding of the reasons for
