The public library is a public cultural institution for the public,which is managed and funded by the national or local government and provides free services to the people.It is an important part of the construction of public cultural services in China.As the commonweal cultural unit with the most extensive coverage,public libraries undertake many functions and social responsibilities of public cultural services.As a regional information center,the public library is an important base for information dissemination and communication,and is an advantageous platform for the realization of government information disclosure.With the advent of the information age and the continuous advancement of network,digital,and informatization in libraries,the state and society have put forward new requirements for the public service capabilities of public libraries.In the informational background,the level of information literacy of public library librarians directly relates to the quality of library public services,and the knowledge service capabilities of librarians are undoubtedly the key elements of the quality of public services.Therefore,this study conducted an empirical study of the information literacy and knowledge service capabilities of Guangxi public library librarians,and through data analysis to explore the internal relationship between the two,draw the following conclusions: Librarians' information literacy and knowledge service capabilities have a strong positive correlation,moreover,the information capability dimension in information literacy scale has strong explanatory power to knowledge service ability.Personal characteristics variables such as gender,age,academic qualifications,major,working years,etc.have different effects on librarians' information literacy and knowledge service capabilities.Based on empirical research results,in order to improve the public service quality of Guangxi public libraries and the knowledge service capabilities of librarians,this study proposes the following four recommendations from the perspective of human resources development and management:establishing the incentive mechanism of Librarians' information literacy training;improving the information ability of Librarians in daily work;the “precise” talent managementbased on individual characteristics of librarians;put people in good positions and improve the librarian team.
