Age And Human:the Political Enlightenment Of The Rollo May's Existentialist Psychological Theory

"Age and human" is the proposition that need to be treated seriously,when we are in face of our own problems.It's about phenomenology in specific space-time condition,and it isn't just about the meditation in terms of the universality of philosophy,whereas,it is a description about the unique state of human existence.Rollo May,as the founder of the American existence psychology in 20th century,his thinking about the true meaning of human existence is from the existential philosophy,which constitutes the philosophical basis of his theory,and it also become the analysis tool which he diagnoses the Times.In terms of the whole theoretical system,it involves the existence,anxiety,power and violence,freedom and fate,love and the will and so on,these topics are the main understanding about the situation of age,and also show the thinking of the political world.Rollo May took the people's sense of self as the core of his theory,he pointed out that human beings had experienced the two world wars,the Nazi tyranny,poverty,environmental degradation,economic crisis,the nuclear crisis and other events in the 20th century,these events caused widespread anxiety,lonely and helpless feeling in people's spiritual world,and the loss of the sense of self-meaning become a main disease of the Times.This paper aims to reveal the theoretical achievements about the study of political science and political practice by combing through the thought system of Rollo May.Compared with the "reduction" function which the research about traditional thought pursues,this article has focused more on "enlightenment" part,because Rollo May is not a political scientist.As his theoretical purpose,he doesn't attempt to build a complete set of political pattern,but rather to conduct psychological treatment to the people of the age.However,it is just because of this,Rollo May had more realistic description to the political environment which the human factually face with.As a whole,this article is in line accordance with the three existent forms about people as Rollo May indicated,namely Umweit,Eigenwelt,Miwelt,respectively corresponding to three themes about "Era,the people and politics".At this point,we reveal Rollo May's concrete expression for time crisis and disordered state of the spiritual world,and put forward that politics should be geared to the spiritual world in "the crisis era",in order to ensure it good running.Finally,combining with the content about existence and community,freedom and responsibility,love and the will in Rollo May's theory,meanwhile,we will take the actualization of the people as require of political return.We claim that the development of the realistic politics should be a process from healthy person to healthy politics,and it needs to be concerned with specific,living human beings,at the same time,the subjective will of each individual is the key to political action and running.
