Preliminary Study On Social Relief System In Song Dynasty

Relief system in ancient China originated from the western Zhou Dynasty,through dynasties in development,shows the characteristics of diversified and comprehensive.During the period of social change,Song Dynasty institutionalize construction based on the past actions and measures.In ancient China,the social relief in the Song Dynasty became self-sustaining and perfect.According to the bodies of social assistance,social relief mainly includes state aid,social assistance,and individual rescue.This paper mainly studies the official relief agencies and measures.It respects from five parts.The first part clarifies the selected topic background and reasons,the research status at home and abroad,the research method and relevant concepts.The second part is mainly an overview of the Song Dynasty before the situation of social relief system and the development background of Song Dynasty's social relief system and sources of funds.The third part analysis the social relief system in the Song Dynasty,includes setting up institutions and regulations.First of all,on the basis of the identity of the relief object,it will be divided into three categories.There are the content of the social relief disaster relief,poverty relief and special populations'relief.They are not independent absolutely,but cross functions each other.At ordinary times,such as disaster,relief agencies can be a temporary relief agencies;Setting up special institutions for relief also can be a standing body of daily relief;Special populations can coincide with the identity of the victims or poor,which produce multiple relief identity.Secondly,the thorough analysis about different kinds of relief measures.It mainly includes different ways before,during or after a disaster relief and the poverty relief of birth,aging,illness,and death.The fourth part summarizes specific effect of social relief system in the Song Dynasty,which is both positive effects and negative effects.The fifth part is based on the experience and lessons of the social relief system in the Song Dynasty,which make recommendations for China's social relief work in current.Through special assistance,perfect supervision mechanism,and how to carry out comprehensive attaching great importance to the development of spiritual assistance,as a whole to perfect the social assistance system and change people's ideas,advocates the spirit of hard work and struggle.Based on the study of Song Dynasty's social relief system,although they have the different time background,it still helps or enlightens significance to our country social relief work.
