Tusi system is a measure that practiced in the minority areas by feudal rulers.As an ethnic autonomy system,it is not formed overnight.Tusi system in Tibetan areas is not only related with the administrative policies in the frontier made by central power leaders but also related to the garrison soldiers’independences after the collapse of Tibet.Tusi system started in Yuan dynasty,official formed in Ming dynasty and then updated itself in Qing dynasty.Since it was carried out in Tibetan areas,it showed diversifications under usual and universal patterns which presenting differences in different Tibetan areas.As having a special role in the geography and history,Tusi system in Di qing area presented an individual difference during its development.Since He shuo te tribe of Mongolia forced into Di qing and the Gelu Buddhism was introduced into in Qing dynasty,so that relationship between government and religion had changed,even impacted on each other.Tusi system was gradually abolished after applied bureaucratization of native chieftains policy in Qing dynasty,but it was completely ended since the democratic reforms carried out.This paper will give a brief summary about the Tusi system’s study in Yunnan Tibetan area,especially in Ming and Qing dynasties.
