Internet Populism's Emotional Mobilization In Environmental Public Issues

In recent years,with the popularization and development of the Internet,Chinese people's political enthusiasm is activated and the populism is accepted and widely exercised by some Internet users.Hence,a new media-characterized "Internet populism" emerges and a series of "Internet populism" characterized public issues occur.Especially,environmental issue becomes one of concerns by internet users,so it is necessary to investigate the effects of Internet populism on environmental pubic issues to some extent.In this study,quantitative analysis was carried out for media texts of 212"environmental public issues" to investigate the application and effects of Internet populism emotional mobilization in "environmental public issues".First of all,this paper described the basic information of 212 environmental public issues over 7 years,and gave opposite parties of the populism in "Internet populism" among environmental public issues and their mobilization strategies.Second,in combination with 212 relevant cases,this study summarized outcomes of environmental public issues and measured the emotions in content of environment public issues,and finally analyzed the relationship between strategies,emotions and effects to get the basic principle of Internet populism's emotional mobilization in environmental public events;Finally,the study analyzed the effects of Internet populism emotional mobilization in environmental public issues and hypothesized that Internet populism emotional mobilization had a negative influence on the progress of environmental public issues and Internet populism emotional mobilization might cause gathering,procession,conflicts and other crowd behaviors.It is concluded that the application of strategies and emotional expression in Internet populism's emotional mobilization have an influence on the outcomes of environmental public issues.On the one hand,they promote the governments and enterprises to respond to environmental pollution and other issues;on the other hand,they will deteriorate existing conflicts in environmental public issues and increase the possibility of gathering,procession and other crowd behaviors.
