Online education gives full play to the subjectivity of students,and also puts forward greater requirements for students' consciousness.Therefore,the motivation of learners' learning interest and learning motivation is particularly important in the online education environment.In order to increase students' interest in learning Chinese in online Chinese teaching,this article takes two Chinese children as the research object and attempts to use the ARCS model as the theoretical basis to carry out an action research on online Chinese teaching for Chinese children.In the study,classroom videos,weekly classroom feedback,homework grades,teaching logs,interviews were used for data classification and analysis.In the action research,by observing the course playback of the previous four weeks of teaching,I found that the problems in the teaching are:(1)Not effectively attracting students' attention;(2)The teaching content is not highly relevant;(3)The confidence in success is insufficient;(4)Students are not satisfied.Based on the problems in the previous four weeks of teaching and the possibility of applying the ARCS model in Chinese teaching,an action plan for the problems in teaching was formulated.The implementation steps of the action plan in this article are: collect course information and student information,analyze students' learning motivation;formulate corresponding action plans based on the ARCS model theory based on the problems in the previous four weeks of teaching;start implementation from the fifth week,and during the fifth to twelfth week of the action plan write a teaching log to record the reflections,mood and feelings of each class,and give class feedback to the research subjects every week;finally present and analyze the learning effects of the research subjects after the implementation of the action plan,conduct reflection and summary as well,improve the preset teaching motivation strategy,and then form a relatively complete motivation strategy for online Chinese teaching for Chinese children.The main results of the action research are: the learners' enthusiasm in the classroom has been improved,the transformation from the original dislike of expression to the daring and willing to express has been realized,the learners' self-confidence has been improved,and the learners' learning goals before enrollment are basically achieved.After twelve weeks of action research,the article concluded that the ARCS model is suitable for Chinese language teaching for children of Chinese descent online,which can effectively enhance students' interest in learning,and continue to actively participate in online learning,which is worth learning and learning from Chinese educators.The article also draws four research results.First,the motivation strategies for online Chinese children's Chinese teaching mainly include:(1)Stimulate interest,stimulate inquiry,and maintain attention;(2)Position goals,match interests,and connect with reality;(3)Establish success expectations,give success opportunities,and be clear success attribution;(4)Enhance inner satisfaction,reward positive behaviors,and maintain fair treatment.Second,the action research helps teachers realize their personal growth in the process of action research.Thirdly,this research has effectively stimulated the interest and motivation of Chinese children in learning Chinese through the Internet.Fourthly,this research has made a useful exploration of the application of ARCS model to Chinese language teaching,and it also provides a new idea for Chinese international education.
