| Qing Daoguang er shi liu nian Guangdong gao shi,the manuscript of Qing Dynasty entered the French National Library in 1847,it contains 283 documents including the proclamations issued by provincial officials of Qing Dynasty in Guangdong Province,the notice posted by gentries or civilians,the records of rumor happened that time and other documents which is an important example about Britain carried out intelligence work in China after Opium War,and has higher documentary value.This paper examines the form and source of the text as well as discusses its documentary value from three aspects: the content,the uniqueness of the documents and the relationship with other collections.On the other hand,the text can be used to study the change of local society in Guangzhou after Opium War and the daily situation of Guangzhou society in the middle of the 19 th century,which supplements the deficiency of other documents,thus it also has important historical material value. |
