A Passage to India is the masterpiece of the 20 th century British novelist E.M.Forster,which tells the story of the colonial conflict between Britain and India.The paper studies A Passage to India from the perspective of Bourdieu's field theory,placing interpersonal relations,relations between nations,relations among nations within the framework of sociological theoretical research,revealing the power relations under colonial rule,connecting of prescriptions for conflict resolution.The paper is divided into five parts: the introduction briefly introduces Foster and his works,summarizes the research literature,and gives a comprehensive review of the study of A Passage to India,and defines the field concept.The first chapter focuses on the causes of A Passage to India from the perspective of field and discusses the capital and habit factors.The second chapter analyzes the power field constructed by the power game between Britain and India.The capital in the field controls the individual in the form of power symbol to alienate the individual.The confrontation between Britain and India and the manipulation of capital are based on the strength of political and economic strength.However,in contemporary society,the strength on which the struggle depends flows in the direction of culture and education.The third chapter analyzes the strategic choice of the actor.The struggle relationship caused Utopian Mrs.Morr,mixed status Aziz,and contradictory Fielding to adopt conservative,inherited,and subverted strategic choices.The fourth chapter analyzes Foster's view of connection.The view of connection is formed by Foster's reflection on British public education and the inheritance of western humanistic spirit,and the connection thought has important guiding value to life.The conclusion is the longing for the realization of the concept of connection.
