The Writing About Luofu Mountain In Poetry And Ci Of Song Dynasty

Luofu Mountain,a famous mountain in Lingnan,has a very important cultural status.During the Eastern Jin Dynasty,Ge Hong and Shan Daokai respectively opened the history of Taoism and Buddhism in Luofu Mountain.Then,in the Northern and Southern Dynasties,some literati began to live in Luofu Mountain to study,which became a fashion in Tang Dynasty.By the Song Dynasty,Luofu Mountain had become a well-known religious and cultural center in Lingnan;besides,poetry and Ci related to Luofu Mountain increased rapidly and showed distinct characteristics.First of all,affected by the writing about Luofu Mountain of the previous literati,people in Song Dynasty had formed the impression of “famous mountain” Luofu.Besides,based on deeply accepting the fairy mountain culture of Luofu Mountain,they constructed the image of “fairy mountain” Luofu,making the image of “Luofu” in poetry and Ci unreal and become a symbolic imagery.Furthermore,the Song literati who visited or lived in seclusion in Luofu Mountain carried out activities there,clearing up the gap between this“fairy mountain” and the human world,and showing the multifaceted and realistic image of Luofu Mountain through detailed description.In addition to writing the external appearance of Luofu Mountain,the Song people deeply explored the fairy stories and miracles of Luofu Mountain as well,and presented the three major legends of “Fushan merging with Luoshan”,“wild man in Luofu Mountain” and “plum blossom in Luofu Mountain” with poetry and Ci,which further enriched the writing content about Luofu Mountain.Moreover,the important figures related to Luofu Mountain are also the expressive objects of emphasis in poetry and Ci of Song Dynasty.For instance,Ge Hong,a profound Taoist in Luofu Mountain,was deified again and again by the Song people;Su Shi,the representative of celebrities related to Luofu Mountain,not only greatly enriched the cultural deposits of this mountain,but also became a reference model for later literati.Finally,the creation of poetry and Ci of Taoist in Luofu Mountain,a special group of literati in Song Dynasty,also deserves attention.Their creations mainly include three types of works: Taoist practice,landscape feelings and works sent to friends,which haveobvious religious features compared with the creations of literati.All in all,in contrast with the Tang Dynasty,the Song people were closer to Luofu Mountain,and their writing about Luofu Mountain was more diverse,detailed and profound,which was of certain paradigmatic significance for the creation of later works about Luofu Mountain.
