The ontological prove of God's existence is a well-known argument in history of philosophy.Comparing to previous philosophers,Kant's objection argued on the basis of existential proposition.Kant's view of existential proposition can be divided into formal aspect and epistemic aspect. In the formal aspect,“being” can only be a copula in any proposition. In the epistemic aspect, the possibility of existential proposition can be justified by the modal use of “existence” as the category of pure understanding. Finally, these two aspects are concluded under Kant's term “positing”.Kant not only argued against the ontological prove of God's existence,he also argued against any existential proposition without empirical basis. Therefore, his objection should be understood as the application of his view of existential proposition, rather than an ontological claim of God's nature.Kant took the strategy of transferring this problem from metaphysics to epistemology, therefore he successfully overcome the preference of “God” originated from cultural and intellectual pursuit.
