Study Of Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(7-8)’s Function Words

Tsinghua University Tibetan Bamboo Slips(hereinafter referred to as Tsinghua Bamboo Slips),is a batch of bamboo slips which purchased by Tsinghua University alumni Zhao Weiguo from Hong Kong and donated to Tsinghua University in 2008.It occupies an important position in the Bamboo Slips of the Warring States Period discovered so far.The seventh and eighth volumes of the Tsinghua Bamboo Slips were released in 2017 and 2018.Their content involves some historical events and ideas of governing the country during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Periods.Due to the short time to market and the large and complex bamboo slips,the academic research is still mainly at the stage of interpretation,and the vocabulary research is relatively weak.In view of this,the article uses Tsinghua University Tibetan Bamboo Slips(7)and Tsinghua University Tibetan Bamboo Slips(8)as the research materials,which edited by Tsinghua University Unearthed Document Research and Protection Center and Li Xueqin.Through the measurement method,the functional words are sorted out more comprehensively,objectively reflecting the actual situation of the functional words,with a view to revealing the rules and characteristics of the development of Chinese functional words,and providing some data for the study of Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(7-8).The paper is divided into seven parts in structure.The introduction mainly discusses briefly from the three parts of the research materials,research significance and methods of this article,to define the scope of the function words in this study.The first chapter is related research on the adverbs in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(7-8).From the perspective of grammatical meaning,the adverbs are divided into ten categories: judgment,time,degree,state,doubt,relevance,scope,persuasion,negation,and inference.The second chapter is related research on the prepositions in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(7-8).The prepositions are divided into five categories from the perspective of grammatical functions: introduction tools,conditions,methods and basis,introduction objects,introduction reasons or purposes,introduction time and Introduce premises or scope.The third chapter is related research on the conjunctions in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(7-8).From the perspective of grammatical functions,the conjunctions are divided into seven categories:juxtaposition,continuation,hypothesis,choice,concession,causality,and transitional conjunction.The fourth chapter is related research of tone words in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(7-8).From the perspective of semantics,tone words are divided into three categories: declarative tone,interrogative tone,and expressive tone.The fifth chapter is related research of auxiliary words in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(7-8).From the perspective ofgrammatical functions,auxiliary words are divided into three types: structural auxiliary words,auxiliary auxiliary words and auxiliary auxiliary words.In these five chapters,through the combination of quantitative and qualitative methods,synchronic and diachronic methods,supplemented by unearthed literature and handed down literature,the adverbs,prepositions,conjunctions,tone words and auxiliary words in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(7-8)are sorted out quantitatively and analyzed comprehensively,to reveal the inner rules and characteristics of different types and different individual function words.The conclusion part is to analyze the function words in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(7-8)from the unbalanced use cases of the major categories of function words and the sub-categories of function words,and summarize some from the aspects of phonetic form,semantic and grammatical functions,historical evolution in conclusion.Studies have shown that the function words in Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(7-8)have distinctive grammatical and pragmatic features,and are of important reference value for the study of Chinese grammar history.At the same time,these function word research materials can provide a new reference for the further research of Tsinghua Bamboo Slips(7-8).
