“American-Style”Ballet Artistic Characteristics Research

This paper is based on the deep research in the historical databases and the relevant information focusing on the idea about the three layers which are ballet choreography 、 ballet performance and ballet teaching technique.Through the profoundly ratiocination and verification,the paper explains the idea that ballet in America has been reformed to become an icon of Modern Ballet which is apart from the Classical Ballet during the period of 1920 s to 1950 s.This procedure makes American Ballet turn to a new style,“American-Style Ballet”.Numerable ideas have come out of it,including the bolden reformation and the recognition of the way in expressing in the Classical Ballet.The styles of dancing performance were led by the aesthetics of the public as well as the dancers.Furthermore,the thought of reforming the bodies languages in such a flexible and exaggerated ways has partly influenced by the American Native Dance and the American Modern Dance.The ways of teaching techniques have become more flexible and useful.Based on the wisdom of the Classical Ballet Technique in Russia,however,“American-Style Ballet” has been partly affected by the principle part of dance creation,which included the greatest ballet choreographers and both the ballet reformers,like George Balanchine、Jerome Robins and so on.They have reformed their balletic language that was used to rebuild the movement language in a flexible way,diversifying the possibilities of movements along with the pure dance which is building up a relationship between the music and the dance with the thought of harmonicity and non-harmonicity.Also,the additivity has being a role of it.The “American-Style Ballet” which is uses its pure liner of the bodies,un-successive fluctuated in a limited space and it’s less-stronger than the classical ballet of the emotions in a creation.The emotions performed in a piece that has taken the audiences to a new balletic era.
