Du Fu’s poetry is so wide ranging that everything the eye sees can be written into it.In Du fu’s poems,flowers and trees,fish,insects,birds and animals,mountains and rivers,all carry the poet’s own experience and emotion.The study of animal images in Du Fu’s works is an indispensable part of his research.At present,the study of animal images in Du Fu’s poetry mainly focuses on a single image or a horizontal comparison with other poets’ animal images,but lacks systematic study.On the basis of the predecessors,this paper selects the representative images of Horse,Dragon and Phoenix,,which run through Du Fu’s poetry creation all the time,through the horizontal and vertical research comparison,explore the Du Fu’s mood changes,poetry changes,artistic style,and the inheritance of later generations.Firstly,the paper discusses the changes of horse images in different periods and the characteristics of horse images in Du Fu’s poems.Du Fu’s life experiences and mental changes are reflected in the imagery changes at different stages,from steed,skinny horse,to ordinary horse,as well as the changes of poetic style.What’s more,the aesthetic meaning of "thin vigor" reflected in the images of horses in Du Fu’s poems,as well as the techniques of Eagle horse and Dragon horse decoration commonly used by Du Fu in his poems.Secondly,it discusses the main emotional implication of the image of dragon in Du Fu’s poems.The author holds that the image of dragon mainly represents the Royal Family and high-ranking Gentlemen,but not every Dragon image in his poem has this meaning,so the writer also discusses the phenomenon of over-interpretation of the image of dragon by scholars.In the use of Dragon Image,Du Fu’s poems use pleasant scenes to set off the sad feelings,and the images of Dragon and Snake,Dragon and Phoenix are used together,which embodies Du Fu’s aesthetic tendency of "majestic".The article also discusses the evolution and emotional implication of the Phoenix image in Du Fu’s poems.The phoenix image represents Du fu’s more extensive spirit of great love beyond the spirit of Confucianism,as well as the embodiment of Du fu’s self-image and personality.Finally,the paper discusses the differences and similarities between these realistic and non-realistic images in Du Fu’s poems,as well as their expressive techniques and artistic styles,and discusses the cultural value of the animal images in Du Fu’s poems.This paper also analyzes the inheritance and innovation of Du Fu’s animal image techniques by poets from Tang Dynasty to Song Dynasty,then to Yuan Dynasty,Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. |
